Glencoe is home to one of the most iconic landscapes in Europe. The wild, weather-beaten mountainous scenery here is just extraordinary – no self-respecting landscape photographer could surely resist the highlands of Scotland. And during this 3-day workshop, our intention is to guide you to its most photogenic viewpoints.
Glencoe has an abundance of mountain vistas, lochs, glens, little bothies, and moorland, yet many of its most stunning viewpoints are wonderfully accessible, with the A82 running straight through Rannoch Moor. In early autumn, we will be hoping for big dramatic skies, maybe an early flurry of snow or a ground frost, mixed together with a hint of autumnal colour. The day length might be short at this time of year, but the quality of light throughout the day promises to be superb. During this workshop, we intend to photograph Buachaille Etive Mòr, Glen Etive, Lochan na h-Achlaise, the peaks of The Three Sisters and the iconic River Coupall waterfall. We will also visit Castle Stalker and stop off at the World famous Blackrock Cottage. It promises to be a busy, but productive couple of days photography…
Our accommodation for this workshop couldn’t be in a better location. The famous Kingshouse Hotel has been a stop off for weary travellers since the 1750’s. Expect warm fires, a warm welcome and great hospitality. The hotel is newly refurbished and modernised, but has retained its charm and character – even its famous Walkers Bar has been reinstated. The hotel is located right in the heart of Glencoe, with mountains towering above and boasting extraordinary views. Many of our locations are just a short drive away from the hotel. We will be staying at the hotel for 2-nights (sole occupancy). Meanwhile, three course evening meal (Tuesday & Wednesday) and highland breakfast and pack lunch (Wednesday & Thursday) are also provided in the cost. Group size is strictly limited to 8 people to maximise plenty of individual attention.
On this workshop your tutors will be Mark Bauer and Ross Hoddinott. Mark and Ross will ensure that you are guided to the best locations at the right time, and will always be at hand to offer tuition to help you capture Glencoe’s stunning scenery. We hope you can join us…
